not sure I would have stayed either
It’s a crazy world we live in. From the above cited article
It is interesting that the dean in question is not, as some have tried to paint him (apparently without checking into his background) as some egghead anti gun liberal, the guy grew up hunting, has military and cops in the family and is therefore familiar with guns, and said this simply was going too far. I think the most valid point he made was that this is a college campus, where kids are just starting to grow up, and the pressures and tensions that are in young people in thos age group are already high, and combing that with guns is likely to cause problems. It doesn’t take a genius to think of, for example, someone not allowed access to a party pulling a gun out and shooting, or some 18 year old kid thinking he is going to be the hero when there is some sort of fight between people, and ends up killing someone, or a jilted lover killing their ex, or stupidly drunk ‘playing’ with the gun. Only time will tell, but I would bet that over the long term the campus won’t be any safer, and that they will be dealing with unexpected tragedies from this decision.
