I have been accepted to Iowa and MSU for business, but i was rejected by UIUC. I visited all three schools and i liked them all. I live in Illinois(in state tuition), and I have always wanted to go to UIUC. Should i go to my local CC for a year and transfer to UIUC next year or go to Iowa or MSU?

If a business program is your desire, you should likely take one you already have now. The UIUC business school is one of the hardest to get into both as a frsshman and a transfer. If you go the CC route and apply as a transfer later, there is no guarantee you will be accepted even if you have a high college GPA. Moreover, if you apply for transfer into second year, a fact that will be considered against your admission is your prior rejection. In other words, you should not assume in making your decision that your chances are high of later admission to UIUC’s business college.

I think there is a community college program (Parkland Pathway) that guarantees an admission to UIUC if the student has a good GPA in CC.

Maybe to the University, but not the Business School

For the Parkland Pathway program, here is a list of the programs into which a Parkland Pathway’s student can get admission at UIUC; Noticeably absent from the list is the business college: [U of I Admissions: Parkland Pathway to Illinois - Majors and Concentrations](<a href=“University of Illinois Undergraduate Admissions”>University of Illinois Undergraduate Admissions)
