Tour companies...

Can anyone recommend a tour company for European tours? My dd’s friends want to go-- an 18yo and a 17yo this summer, after high school graduation. The parents are hesitant to have them go unescorted just because of safety/ language concerns.

I’d say get them a “Eurail pass” or whatever they call it these days and an International hosteling membership (plus some reservations and maybe a set itinerary) and let them go alone. The only kids I’ve personally known who were harmed or got into trouble in Europe were travelling in a pack of other teenagers with tours/chaperones. The ones who went alone were fine.

like as Consolation stated. ( If you can afford Europe with a short Dollar. )
and if you can, try a trial run; let kids go to another US city for a few days and see if they can manage.

If they only have a short period of time, a tour group might be better so you can see everything efficiently. Some prep schools have chaperoned trips to Europe; that might be the kind of thing you want.
