<p>I live in South Texas. Our water is hard as a rock. Without fabric softner the towels feel the same after a wash!</p>
<p>In keeping with anxiousmom’s opinion, I recently bought some darn nice towels at Dollar General.</p>

<p>Ah - this may be the issue. Our water is pretty soft, so clothes/towels don’t seem to need fabric softener. I can live with a little static. :)</p>

<p>I love my new bamboo towels. I bought the Ty Pennington towels from Sears (of all places), and I think they are fantastic. Super absorbent, super soft, and after eight months even my daughter’s bright orange set still looks like new.</p>
