<p>Saw it the other night with H and most of our kids. It was good, but IMO not as great as the first two–which we own and have watched many many times.
This one seemed much more “tense” and frightening throughout most of the movie. Yes, there were some good laughs, too–■■■■■ orphans, Barbie and Ken, etc.) But most of the time the toys were in danger–a little too scary for younger kids. I was on the verge of tears quite a few times–and cried at the end.</p>

<p>I couldn’t believe it when my 20-year-old son asked me to go and see “Toy Story 3” with him on opening day. We had seen the first 2 together and as he put it, “We really should see the last one together too.” He was just 5 when the original “Toy Story” came out and 9 when “Toy Story 2” premiered! </p>
<p>We both enjoyed the movie. I thought Pixar really ended the series in a most appropriate fashion. (I admit that I cried when Andy drove off to school!)</p>
<p>Just bumping this thread to remind parents to see this movie. You won’t regret it.</p>
<p>Like worried_mom, my 21 year old asked me to see it with him and his girlfriend and her mom. We all teared up at the end. I think it was written with this age group in mind more than for the little ones. It certainly has more meaning for us, even if you haven’t seen the other two. Definitely see this special movie!</p>
<p>Thanks for suggesting this movie. Barbie and Ken were hilarious! There were more grown-ups than kids at the showing we attended. I think it may have been a little too intense for the younger set. I don’t know if I can ever look at a “baby doll” in the same way.</p>
<p>The Toy Story movies were a big part of my children’s (and my) lives! I thought this one was pretty great, but once again the ‘curse’ of too many glowing reviews dampened it a bit for me. Toys Story 2 is still my all-time favorite.</p>
<p>My H and D and I went to see it, she goes off to college inAugust. I loved it. It had everything a movie should have. I loved Barbie torturing Ken with his clothes. And what a great ending. I would love to see how Pixar makes one of these, would love to see a “behind the scenes”. Maybe when it comes out in DVD they will include a second disk.</p>
<p>My W and D took 3 neighbor kids. W and D said they were glad to have the 3D glasses to hide their tears. I’m guessing that’s a good thing. Two big thumbs-up from a Texas family. (The third thumb doesn’t do theatres anymore.)</p>
<p>They weren’t tears, it was allergies! At least, that’s what my daughter said. I LOVED the film. What I loved the most was (SPOILER ALERT) Andy’s last play with the toys at the end, and the poker game with the “See and Say” and Michael Kean’s take on Ken. A definite re-see!</p>
<p>It is a great movie, although I expected it to be given the reviews. Not sure if it was just me but through about the first half, I chuckled but found myself wondering what the big deal was. Definitely awesome after that, though. I saw the first two but <apparently> do not remember many details–I was happy to have DS#1 next to me pointing out references to the first two movies (including the entire opening adventure).</apparently></p>
<p>My DH and I actually saw it on a double-date with our D and her boyfriend, and EVERYone cried (well, I’m not sure about the boyfriend, he wouldn’t admit it.) D noticed that the little girl at the end had a Totoro doll, from the classic anime movie “My Neighbor Totoro.” (Maybe it’s a nod to the fact the Disney now distributes “My Neighbor Totoro”?)</p>
<p>Anyway, I digress - a really, really good movie!</p>
<p>I was also a total mess when Andy was in his room with his mom (although she looked more like an older sis than his mom!) </p>
<p>Saw it with Hubby & Son, just like we did the other two films. I still remember how Son’s eyes sparkled with delight when he unwrapped his Buzz Lightyear that was a BD present that first year. I will never forget that. I’m getting all teary just thinking about it.</p>
<p>See it - you won’t regret it.</p>
<p>Saw it tonight with my wife. Must admit as we are shipping out our last son to college, the scenes at the end resonated. I thought the story was quite good. Nice balance of keeping you off balance while still building on prior themes and characters. Well done.</p>
<p>The Spanish stuff was a highlight (including the stuff in the credits).</p>
