I love the frozen cubes of garlic and basil from Dorot. I add them to stir frys etc.

Any new comments? I am addicted to TJ’s Fig Butter, perfect for anyone who no longer buys Newtons now that the nest is empty. Also, in less than two weeks I will finally have a store in my town. :)!

Kimchee rice, fresh mozzarella string cheese, spinach salad in a bag, and the sparkling limeade in the fancy french glass bottle are all near the top of our family list.

Dark chocolate covered ginger pieces; frozen roasted tri-color peppers and onions - use in scrambled eggs, on pizza, in chili, and over pasta; frozen breaded eggplant; fresh brussel sprouts - roast w/olive oil and garlic.

1moremom, I just bought the fig butter! I have not tried it yet. I bought it because I recently ate in a restaurant that offered an appetizer of fig spread on mini raisin bread squares and different cheeses. It was really delicious, so i thought that i would buy the fig spread and perhaps serve something similar when we have guests. It just might not last that long ;), so we will have to see!

TJ’s Belgium bittersweet chocolate is great! I bought the one with almonds.

Hurricane Sandy TJ run: Pumpkin pie, pumpkin macaroons, pumpkin butter, pumpkin/choc cake, pumpkin bread mix, pumpkin pancake mix. I’m sensing a trend.

northeastmom, TJ’s has rosemary raisin crisp crackers—they’re awesome!

Vitrac, what about their pumpkin cream cheese spread. yum!
Dark chocolate covered coconut and mango, frozen brussel sprouts, frozen pineapple and mango chunks, nan bread, whole grain sourdough bread, fresh jumbo ravioli, tomato basil pasta sauce, refried beans and any of their spices, very reasonably priced. Mini-mini chicken pot pies, meatless meatballs. I can go on and on.

Our TJs carries something called “Chunky Guacalmole” which is guac with some greek yogurt mixed in. It cuts down the fat and tastes fantastic. Addicting…

we like their sugared fruit gummies

Did a Sandy run right before they closed last night. Ever since I mentioned Vola wine on the cheap wine thread they’ve been out of the juice…

^^gosmom: I agree, those crackers are yummy.

We have tried dozens of TJ items and have had GREAT luck with everything we’ve tried.

This is an item we tried just last night for dinner and I would warn AGAINST anyone trying it, it wasn’t worth it…collassal butterflied shrimp that comes frozen in a box. Not worth it. We would have been much better off buying uncooked shrimp ourselves, which is what we usually do.

btw, curiousJane…what’s kimchee rice??

New to try if/when the power goes our and I have to heat water on the camp stove: instant rice noodle soup bowls (one garlic, one mushroom).

It’s rice with kimchee (Korean fermented spicy cabbage) mixed in, so it’s red and very spicy and very yummy. It comes in a plastic bag you puncture and throw in the microwave for 3 minutes or so.

If we’re coming home late from a sports practice or something, I can cook some eggs or fish or chicken really quickly, nuke some kimchee rice, nuke some veggies, stir it all together and I’ve got dinner in 20 minutes.

^^glad I asked. I’m a wimp when it comes to spicy food, so kimchee rice isn’t for us! I’ll stick with brown rice, jasmine rice, wild rice, quinoa, couscous, etc.,etc.,etc.

Just bought something at Trader Joes solely because I saw others grabbing it.
Trader Joes vegetable Panang curry with jasmine rice.
Yummy. Perfect hotness for me.

Salted caramel butter cookies covered in chocolate are a gift to me from God. And I will not share no matter how nicely you ask.

Was just there today but was rushing before meter expired. How did I miss salted caramel butter cookies covered in chocolate???

Cookie butter – comes in creamy and crunchy (though have not tried the chunky version). This stuff can be addicting and is especially great on a toasted english muffin.

Cutting down on sugar, but I do want to try the dried persimmons
