^^ That’s MY TJs. I’ll be in upstate NY that day, having done my shopping earlier in the week. The little kids I visit love the inexpensive Advent calendars with chocolates behind each door. They used to be 99 cents but then went up to $1.29 last year.

hee hee - I told my D (who is racing in Poughkeepsie on Saturday) that she will have to take the team bus home since there won’t be any room in the truck (!!). I’ll have to get those Advent calendars…

Black Friday shopping trip??? It gives me agita just thinking about that! I just can’t take the crowds anymore.

My TJ’s is the Westfield one, though I may be slightly closer to Florham Park. It sells the two-buck Chuck. :)

Definitely OT but I just noticed that you’ve become a Super Moderator, garland. Congrats! How long ago did that happen and what does it mean?

Rachacha, I have an unopened email from Joe’s. Is it seriously announcing a Black Friday stampede (er, sale)?

Don’t know about a specific sale on Black Friday (I am in NJ for Thanksgiving and that is the only day I can go), but I got the online newsletter today so that might be what you have…

Yum…so many favorites!

Harvest Grains
Chicken Shu mai and vegetable shu mai
Organic low sodium creamy tomato soup (add in the harvest grains…delicious!)
Crunchy unsalted peanut butter
Creamy unsalted almond butter
Yogi tea (both green tea and ginger tea)
Nut mix (can’t remember it’s name) - almonds, cashews and dried cranberries
fresh mozzarella perlini
whole wheat pizza dough
pumpkin bread mix

It’s easily my favorite place for food shopping!

Black bean taquitos
First crush Gravenstein applesauce

Oh, Grade A maple syrup (at 1/2 what anyone else wants me to pay)
and pumpkin butter

Oh, how could I forget the breads?
Ciabatta (chunked and dipped in cheese fondue…)
Tuscan pane (makes the best grilled cheese sandwiches you ever had…)

Worrywart–I was going to PM you, but you don’t have that turned on. Been ‘supermod’ for a couple months; basically means I can mod on all the boards.

BAck to your regularly scheduled thread…

[That kettle corn is deadly.]

My daughter likes to start in on it before I get a chance at the bag. There’s a more expensive brand at Whole Foods and at our local store and that brand has far more kernels unpopped that are good at breaking teeth on.

^^ vis a vis Kettle Korn–I just came back from my run to TJ’s to buy the Advent calendars and saw the Kettle Korn display. Darn! I remembered it being mentioned here and so far I have had 2 “servings” and I’ve only been home for 30 minutes. It is STILL calling to me.

The marshmallow krispy bricks are nice too. They don’t look that attractive in the packaging but they’re addictive. Something else my daughter likes to hide.

Curse you all for touting the Kettle Corn! I just bought my first bag today and now I’m going to need a support group to make it my last.

worrywart, you can always start a 12 step program for kettle corn. I cannot buy kettle corn because it won’t last very long in this house!

Recently tried the pumpkin muffin/cake mix-this was good and so easy to make-as in next to no effort.

I bought their chicken cacciatore sauce and I added some diced onions, diced plum tomatoes, green pepper, and sliced mushroom to the sauce. I browned and then added thin sliced chicken cutlets. It was a nice quick and easy dinner. I made some pasta to go with it. It made a simple and tasty weekday dinner.

That sounds delicious. Will try that on next trip.

Peppermint Joe-Joe’s sandwich cookies are in stock now for the holiday season. Beware!

Yup. I bought those too :o

For the chicken cacciatore sauce, I used one and one half jars for dinner for 3 people, and I did have enough chicken and pasta left over for 2 lunches. I bought 3 jars, so I will get 2dinners out of that, with left over food for a few lunches.

Frozen roasted corn! It’s a great addition to my enchilada filling.
