Trader Joe's Top 10

Sorry hit the wrong button, did not mean to post.

All their coffees
Frozen mushroom risotto
Maple clusters cereal, super nutty toffee clusters cereal
Frozen brown rice
Organic whole wheat pasta( so inexpensive)
organic 73% dark chocolate bar
extra virgin olive oil

I really have not found much that I did not like.

I just bought their chocolate chip cookies for the first time (the ones with the extra chips), and they are really excellent. If I did not know better, I would have thought that they were purchased at a bakery.

Also, I found bagged salads there for a lower price than at any of the grocery stores in my neighborhood. The same is true for the baguettes.

I had to go back because my son requested one of their frozen rice mixes.

OMG! Of course the coffees, extra virgin olive oil, chocolate ganache cake…son’s favorite maple clusters cereal…and the sponges that you have to inflate with water! Dog biscuits…the frozen uncooked shrimp…

Those sponges are great…

Thought of some more. This summer they had big boxes of blueberries(3+ pounds) for $6. It was incredible! We put them on everything, including salad, which was amazing. Love all the treck mixes, especially the Go Raw in individual bags. Keeps me from eating it all at once. The dried unsweetened mango…had to stop buying it…was eating a bag a day. Their breads are great; no high fructose cornsyrup or partially hydrogenated oil. Couple of years ago they had ginger gummy bears. For anyone that likes ginger and chewy together…nirvana. The canned cat food is good too, for my cats, of course.

I hope the local TJ’s will have frozen roasted chestnuts soon. They are a great holiday party snack!

No TJ here, the closest one is Vegas. Will have to check it out while driving through one day.

I just returned fro TJs, and I bought “AllButter Shortbread C ookies with Apricot or Raspberry Filling.” They were 4.49 for a container of at least 30- attractive enough to serve guests, and they are more delicious than any bakery butter cookies I’ve had. I think they’ll be dangerous to keep around, though. I’ve eaten four already.

Red Zinger Cake is very, very good and the name just makes you smile.

Is Red Zinger Cake frozen? Just want to know where to look.

My husband likes the blueberry muesli - it’s unsweetened.

I love the candied ginger - I avoid buying it, because I can eat a whole bag in a day, but I had some this weekend because I have a cold (good excuse!)

Have not seen or hear of the Red Zinger cake.

The shortbread cookies with apricot or raspberry jam are wonderful. I never buy them - too tempting.

Wasabi mustard.

Yes, it is dangerous to buy things from TJs, but cause they are VERY tempting. Every time we buy “gifts” for others from there, we have to work hard to be sure to deliver them right away before they are consumed by us!

Red Zinger was a type of herbal tea I drank–back in the day.

I used the green curry simmer sauce (jar) tonight. It’s too strong and tart for my taste. I ended up combining two jars of the simmer sauce with one can of coconut milk. Added quite a bit of brown sugar plus some salt, plus a couple of handfuls of slivered fresh basil at the end. With florets from a head of broccoli, a sliced red bell pepper, two huge carrots thickly sliced, and two packages of firm tofu cubed, this made a huge batch of pretty good veggie curry that we’ll eat over rice for a number of meals.

I used the Korma sauce tonight. I find it to mild with the added water so I add 1/2 can of the light coconut milk also from Trader Joe’s. First cooked cut up chicken tenders and then added sauce. Served it over rice. I also made some indian spinach packet that you microwave in 2 minutes. I liked it but H and D did not care for it.

I am so excited - There is a Trader Joe’s that just opened about 40 minutes from here! My daughter and I are going to check it out tomorrow. Any new products that we should buy?

Just remember that not EVERYTHING is cheaper & better just because it’s at that store, though they do have a lot of good things. Take your time & don’t buy more than you can comfortably consume–better to return to buy more than have to worry about spoilage.

Too bad you are not in my time zone HImom - we bought as if we would not be returning. I am sitting here at the computer slowly eating my way through a bag of the kettle corn. My daughter asked me to remove them from her reach. I had to take a roast out of the freezer to make room for the four packs of croissants and pie crusts and the potato medley (perfect combo with rice and tofu and General Tso sauce), and mandarin chicken…

That kettle corn is deadly.

Tell me about it. A bag lasts about 10 minutes in our house.

Keep 'em coming - I am currently in training for my Black Friday Trader Joe’s blowout shopping trip, anyone near the Florham Park NJ Trader Joe’s can give them fair warning!!!
