Oh, oh, oh! Their quattro shreded cheese blend is killer on their herb pizza dough (ball, fresh in the salad section…make bread sticks, or pizza). My D is home for 2 weeks, and it’s on our ‘to eat’ list!

I usually have the Mandarin Orange chicken in the freezer for DS, though it’s not as good as it used to be. I buy all my cheeses and nuts at TJ’s, as well as staples like peanut butter, jam, pasta, their Roasted Garlic tomato pasta sauce, Greek yogurt, chicken sausages, and Marsala naan. I’ve also recently discovered the frozen channa, which is tasty, inexpensive and quick when feeding one.

I love Trader Joe’s! We don’t have one within 4 hours of us but thank goodness I often travel with my DD’s for dance and college. I plan most of my trips around whether or not there is a Trader Joe’s nearby. So excited to be taking oldest DD to UMass Amherst for an audition on Presidents Day lol. There is a TJ’s in the area! I will have to start a list with all of the goodies you guys are mentioning that I have not tried.

Things I have tried and love are: Dark Chocolate Covered Espresso Beans (so cheap compared to other brands), Frozen Cheese Enchiladas, Alaskan Salmon canned in water (used some last night to make patties for DH), Frozen Creme Brulee, Truffle Brownie Mix, Gingerbread mix (our Christmas Eve dessert this year), Charles Shaw Pinot Grigio (surprisingly smooth), we love their prepared Sushi and Mediterranean platters, Peach Mango juice, walnuts, Chai Mix, cocoa powder. I am rarely disappointed!

Son bought a lot of groceries there two years ago. There is also a Whole Foods near the Trader Joes.

I love Trader Joe’s, but due to my enforced low carb diet I can eat virtually none of the things on people’s lists.

Our most common items in no particular order: ground turkey, Two Buck Chuck in several varieties, cheeses (their prices are the best!), sprouted multigrain high protein bread, frozen chana dal, green vegetables, coffee beans (Decaf French Roast and regular Sumatra, I mix them), extra virgin olive oil (I love the little pourer top thing), dishwasher detergent. And occasionally I indulge in a sugar-free chocolate bar.

Tofurkey, Soy Chorizo, Tofu, Cottage Cheese and Nuts are good low-carb items at Trader Joes. Trader Joes is one of my staples stores for low-carb foods.

They obviously have a lot of high-carb, high-sugar stuff too but I typically avoid them. Some of their minimally processed cereals have a decent amount of protein in them too.

Trader Joes Uncured Turkey Bacon is excellent for low-carb and low calories. You get a lot of taste and satisfaction for your calories.

No one else seems to have mentioned the frozen mashed potatoes. My DD loves mashed potatoes and I hate peeling all the potatoes. These are awesome - they are like balls of frozen potatoes and you just put them in a saucepan or microwave them. They are a great time saver. You are all making me think I need to go to TJ’s much more often than I do. I also really like their selection of cheese to go with all that wine they have.

The “hearty graham crackers” (in a cello box) make darned good pie or cheesecake crusts.

Not alot of ours on their most popular list. We regularly get:

Wine (Malbec’s mostly)
Greek Yogurt
Sprouted bread, or High Fiber bread
Guilt Free Mac & Cheese
Always get coffee, but usually try a different one each time
Peanut butter filled pretzel that sometimes sneaks in
Basmati Rice
Kettle Corn is a new item at ours that we get
Puff pastry sheets, my wife likes to use for appetizers
Thai curry sauces
Cacciatore sauce (spelling?)
Cheese’s
Fresh Salsa & Chips w/ flaxseed

Most everything we’ve tried has been good.

We buy a lot of what has already been mentioned but I’d like to add the citrus shampoo and conditioner. My hair is very fine and straight. In the winter static electricity makes me look like a kid at the science museum, touching one of those things that makes it stick straight out of my head. This shampoo/conditioner pair are light enough to keep my hair from going flat but do a great job of keeping the static problem away.

^^^Sounds good, thanks for that info. (And great description of your coif-challenge!)

I’ve always been jealous when CC posters mention TJ products because they sound great, but no store anywhere nearby. But as of today, I need not be jealous any longer. On the front page of our local paper this AM was an announcement that a TJ’s is coming to a very nearby town later this year. Yea! In the meantime, I’m saving this thread for the Grand Opening. Thank you, All.

A Trader Joes opened near my home in NOvember and I still haven’t gotten there because it’s always so crowded. My goal is to get there next week when I play hooky.

I drive 25 miles to get TJs mini shredded wheat with maple and brown sugar. Don’t tell the folks on the weight loss thread!

I am a big Trader Joe’s shopper also, but only buy a few of what is on their Top products and sadly lots of products that I used to buy there they no longer have…such as unsalted black corn tortilla chips and unsalted blister peanuts, also one of the coffees that I used to buy. That said, they are the cheapest around for milk and eggs. I also buy ground turkey, chicken and the apple sausage, cheeses, unsalted tortilla chips, sugar snap peas, whole wheat British muffins, the citrus body wash, the dark chocolate espresso beans, the 100-calorie dark chocolate pack, flowers, mandarin oranges, dry roasted unsalted almonds, dried berry mix, shredded wheat, pizza dough, paperdelle pasta and the seasonal snowman cookies.

marcona almonds with rosemary
coconut milk chocolate ice cream
honey gouda goat cheese
chocolate caramel bar with sea salt
shrimp pot stickers
dried pears
power berries

Life is so much better with TJ’s.

This is where you confess your carbs.

I go for the plain wheat bites.

The Trader Joes near my office in Massachusetts is moving. About a half-mile north over the border into NH. This means no taxes on vitamins and supplements anymore. They are also moving into a bigger space and moving from MA to NH means that they will sell alcohol (I don’t drink but my guess is that they’ll do decent sales in NH). This means that it will be closer to my office but it will be in a strip mall that’s a harder to get in and out of. They will have a much bigger parking lot though which has been a problem at their current location.

It’s amazing that a store that has a lot of bargains and luxury products also manages to compensate their employees well.

Spend a lot of time in TJ. My top list is:
Soy creamer
Tomato Basil Tomato Sauce
Almond Milk
Salted butter(so much cheaper than other stores)
Creme Fraiche
All the cheeses
Quattro Formaggio
Veggie Meatballs
Whole grain sourdough bread
Eggplant cutlets
Organic buttery spread
Vegetable broth
Frozen strawberries, blueberries, pineapple
Frozen Broccoli
Spinach Pizza
Nuts
Brown Sugar
Flour
Olive oil
Eggs
Pie crust
Dark chocolate bars
Charles Shaw Wine
Bananas

Pita bread (our normal grocery store doesn’t sell any D2 will eat, but she loves TJ’s)

Avocado salsa - I love this stuff on quesadillas – but has a short expiration date.

Pork pot stickers

Sweet potato fries

Almond butter (wwwaaayyy cheaper at TJs – like, half price – from every other source I have found)

Lassi (yogurt drink Ds both adore)

Toffee with chocolate coating – not sure of the formal product name, but it is killer good. Makes a mess of my car every time we buy it because we never get home before we open it, and it has ground nuts on the outside that get all over. Totally worth it!

Whole wheat British muffins – although I recently gave them up because they are more calories than the kind in our grocery store.

One of the wonderful things about the food at Trader Joe’s is that it’s free of preservatives.

This presented a major problem for my DD and DH once, however. For a backpacking trip, DD had bought the food for the trip at TJ’s, which included tortillas to be served with packaged tuna and chicken. They had taken tortillas many times before on their trips with no problem, as the typical ones you buy at the market last for several days without refrigeration. Not so for TJ’s preservative free wheat tortillas. They were moldy by the second day.

I feel for those of you without a TJ’s nearby and feel a little guilty to have three stores less than three miles from my house. And I frequent them all.
