They are outstanding and are going fast! Our TJ had a sign “10 box limit.”
Those are the best figs!
Do they need to be refrigerated? Will they keep for 10 days?
No refrigeration required. Individually wrapped as well.
Each fig is individually wrapped in Mylar like pouch. The box says they are good to 06/11/2025! I store at RT.
OK, I went this morning and got the figs! The first person I spoke to didn’t know what I was talking about so we went to another person who at first was skeptical but thought that they sounded familiar so I showed him the picture, and he went straight to them! I am so excited to give these to dh!
Hope he likes them! My husband snuck 2 out of one package. And my kitty approved the packaging
We opened the top box and hid the rest.
That looks like a classic sculptural pose!
We had a cat who liked to sit on boxes too. Any box, any time. Her favorite person in the world was the UPS man.
Although we bought her kitty beds, she rejected them all for the cut down box Chinese food was once delivered in, with an old baby blanket on the bottom. In the kitchen bay window.
Darn, went to the nearest TJ’s an hour away today and totally forgot about the figs. That’s ok, I got plenty of other stuff.
If anyone needs a Thanksgiving snack I was totally influenced by samples - their dressing flavored potato chips with their jarred cranberry sauce as a dip - omg, it’s so good together!
Other new things I bought to try:
Rustic apple tart
Rose Water Toner Face Spray
Felt 9 foot Christmas garland
Noodle packets with spicy garlic seasoning
Miso chopped salad
And white miso in a little tube package for seasoning food!
Went to TJs last week and picked up a bunch of random things. But I have to note the ripple cut potato chips flavored like horseradish with chive. I LOVE the flavor of horseradish and seldom have it. These chips just hit that craving really really well. Also, I ate way too many at once and then couldn’t eat dinner. But it was worth it.
I love the horseradish and chive potato chips! I buy several extra bags of those since they’re in stock just for a brief time in November. They’ve got such a great kick to them.
(And I say this as someone who might buy potato chips only one other time in the summer - but these horseradish chive ones are delish.)
Call me crazy, but put the horseradish/chive potato chips in your next sandwich (maybe with Thanksgiving leftovers?), crunch and flavor.
What do you use white miso to season? I love the flavor but am not sure how I’d use it. Thanks!
I actually need to learn myself! I just have had some recipes call for it but never had it so I grabbed it!
This is my kids’ go-to pasta. I actually take the extra step and make it browned butter. So I brown the butter just until nutty then add the miso paste.
INGREDIENTS
Yield:4 servings
- Kosher salt
- 16ounces spaghetti, linguine or bucatini
- 6tablespoons unsalted butter
- 3tablespoons white (or red) miso
- 4ounces Parmesan, finely grated (1 packed cup)
- Kizami nori, furikake or thinly sliced seaweed snacks, for garnish (optional)
PREPARATION
- Step 1
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the pasta and cook, stirring occasionally, until al dente. Reserve 1½ cups pasta water, then drain the pasta.
- Step 2
Add the butter, miso and 1¼ cups pasta water to the pot and whisk over medium heat until miso breaks down and liquid is uniform, 1 to 2 minutes. Add the pasta and Parmesan and cook, stirring vigorously with tongs until cheese is melted and sauce emulsifies. (The key word here is “vigorously.” To achieve a silky smooth pasta instead of a gloppy one, put your cacio e pepe skills to work.)
- Step 3
Divide among shallow bowls and sprinkle with nori or furikake, if using.
Shhh—the TJs in San Matteo has a fine parking lot. We have never had problems getting space whenever we go there.
My other go to recipe with miso. So easy and delicious. I add more coconut milk (less water) ratio. I also amp up the garlic and ginger. I have a lemongrass plant in my yard and throw some lemongrass in there, too.
It was a TJ night at our house. We like the tubed polenta (about $2 vs about $5 at my grocery store). My husband made a nice fry pan meal with oil/garlic,TJ polenta, tomato sauce, TJ frozen shrimp… topped with TJ shredded 4-cheese (parm etc).
Normally I avoid salad kits due to excess fat, salt, packaging. But my husband likes them, so we decided to try the TJ Harvest Apple salad kit. It was a tasty change of pace.
Just throw out the garbage that’s included with the mixed veggies and use your favorite dressing. That’s what I do with their packaged salads. Or I use the included dressing only, just not the whole packet, and toss the chips, dried corn, cheese bits, etc. A waste? Sure, but convenience costs $.
Thanks for posting this. I had them for the first time today and loved them! DS said they were better than he thought they would taste. Two thumbs up!!
