Are there certain traits that different bs look for? thanks

independence, motivation, leadership potential

kind, smart, well-rounded, responsible, diverse (e.g., geography, ethnicity, nationality)

thanks for the great replies. would applying as an international student from south korea help or hurt my chance of being accepted? ive lived in the us for 13 years though and I have to move back to korea later this year.

I would look at the number of int’l students enrolled from any particular country. If there are many students already from that country, then that will make it more difficult to be admitted.

Some schools categorize int’ls by nationality, others by residency-- you need to check w each school individually.

It also depends on if you need FA - like one CCer said which is sadly true “Being Asian and needing FA is like climbing to the top of Everest”…or something like that. Not necessarily a trait…but still… It helps if you’re charismatic in your interview and passionate in your activities and essays.
Good luck!
