Hi,

I haven’t started college yet, but I will begin in fall 2006 and would like to inform myself about this…
Does the pre-med school strat as soon as you begin college, in your undergraduate studies?
If so, can you start pre-med at one university and then transfer to another university after 2 or so years?

Thank you for the help.

Yeah I also had a question like this about transfering. My plan is to work my a$$ off the first two years, then transfer from my state school into at least the upper Tier 2 schools. The only problem would be that then after one year of transfer I would have to start applying to MedSchool/ take MCAT’s so not sure if it’s worth it/would have enough time to benefit

This seems to be confusing a great number of international students - it makes me think the system is very different overseas.

Yes, you can transfer among colleges as a premed. Premed is simply a set of courses you take - it’s not a school, it’s not a program, it’s not a major - it’s simply a set of courses that you take. As such, it can be done anywhere you like.

It’s kind of a strange thing to do, I suppose. But there’s certainly no rules I can think of that would ban it.

Thanks for the clarification…
