Transcript Help??

Does the transcript include finals? I’m really stressed because they weren’t so great even though my gpa is high. How much would it effect my chances for BS if they were sent? Thanks for any replies guys…

Transcripts include final semester grades for each class. Specific constituent grades (such as your grade on your final exam) are not broken out- only the final semester course grade is listed. Our school does not weight finals very heavily in middle school, and in fact only starts to give final exams in 8th grade, in preparation for high school. At our school, the final exam is usually worth something like 10% of the semester grade, at most. (I am assuming you are applying for 9th grade). Each teacher has his/her own policy. At our school, it is spelled out on their class webpage and also in the computer-based grade reporting software.

Boarding schools are interested in your long-term performance, not the results of a single final exam.

@itsjustschool thanks for that I was freaking out, and I’m applying to 10th grade but my school accounts finals for 20% of grades. Do you happen to know what the “dress code” is for off campus interviews??

Dress appropriate to the venue. It is always appropriate to overdress, but never appropriate to under-dress. You are showing respect and attention to the school and its importance to you. your avatar is female, so I would suggest either a blouse and skirt, or neat pants and a blouse. Take a look at the dress code for any private school (day or boarding) and conform. No jeans or shorts. Something comfortable that you can move in and that is not distracting. Dress like a respectful student. You could always call admissions and ask them. Everyone at admissions I have spoken with has been very helpful. Also, many schools have an “ask a student” link to email a quick question.

Bon Chance!

@itsjustschool thank you so much! I hope it goes okay as the interview is with Andover, one of my top choices. They have a very laid back uniform so I was thinking a nice sweater and skirt. Thanks for all the help!

I am sure you will do fine. Assume the interviewer wants to advocate for you and provide them words and materials that will help them to do that easily. Relax and be yourself.
