Transcripts.....they are important even 20 years later!

…this is a good one…

I’m in the professional services world, and many of my company’s clients are federal government agencies. We include personnel bios & resumes, with degrees attanied, in virtually every proposal we write. We are now seeing an emerging trend by some federal clients requiring us to also provide degree verification by attachment of TRANSCRIPTS and/or degree copies!

I am sure this will produce some interesting proposal reviews…I’m anxious to recall what the heck my transcript looks like!

I never saw my transcript in my whole life. But I suppose I’d know where to find one if I needed it.

My guess is that this requirement is mainly to prevent fraudulent claims about degrees and credentials.

that’s exactly right, & I believe its only for degree verification (& I see that as a good thing). But, having reviewed our first proposal that included transcripts a while ago, I had a hard time not checking them out. A government reviewer will likely be similarly tempted…too much info to pass up…

Funny, but weren’t the gov employees some of the largest clients of the dilpoma mill colleges??

I had to submit my college transcripts to get teaching certification in this state when I moved here… which was twenty years after I graduated. I had to resubmit them to both of the districts where I substitute.

In fact, in my “teacher briefcase” are copies of all my letters of reference and sealed copies of transcripts from every college I’ve taken courses at (7 of them).
