Had a head-scratching experience with financial aid and thought it might be interesting to compare notes with others who’ve been accepted for next year as transfers. I applied for aid and Brown offered me much less than my FAFSA would indicate – basically about $2,000 instead of the $25,000 FAFSA says I should be eligible for. I also get accepted to Amherst and Wesleyan and both offer me aid of more than $20,000. Seems weird. Anyone else have a similar experience?

I got basically the same need-based aid at Brown and Wesleyan as a transfer. (Wesleyan, however, did give me a larger scholarship.) So yes, I would definitely say that seems strange. You might want to talk to the Brown Financial Aid Department about it. I know they do appeals if there are discrepancies like that with need-based aid. Best of luck!
