Transfer acceptance rate

What’s the transfer acceptance rate for Duke? What kind of profile would I need to be successful?

The latest transfer acceptance rate is around 5% but in the past Duke has had a transfer rate of 2% to 5%.

Duke is looking to increase the number of transfers. Do not be intimidated by the low numbers of the past. Mostly due to few applicants with mediocre qualifications.

[Admins seek to increase number of transfers | The Chronicle](http://www.dukechronicle.com/articles/2013/08/27/admins-seek-increase-number-transfers)

If what you say rings true, then what’s considered mediocre to them? You mean out of 920 applicants, the University only found 26 of them qualified for transfer admission? In my opinion, they want to welcome more transfer students but still keep the admit rate around the same.

Muckdog’s point is important. Within the last few months, senior Duke administrators indicated that the University would begin to accept a greater number of fully qualified transfer applicants. In sum, it is a new era for those who wish to transfer to Duke.
