Transfer Admission Second Round

Hi,

Anyone knows anything about second round admission? I applied Smith in February 1st, and when they were sending out admission decision in March, I received an email that I complete my application too late and now I am on 2nd round to get into Smith. Which they will let me know by June 1st. I went to see my transfer counselor, she said it’s a good thing, means Smith still wants me.

I am not so sure, I don’t know how many girls are in second round as I do, I don’t know how many accepted Freshmen chose to go to another school, so do the transfer girls who accepted in March. I applied 9 schools in total, 1 said YES and 4 said NO. I really want to go into all women school, but Wellesley and MoHo have already rejected my application. Now I start getting really nervous about Smith.

Anyone experienced 2nd round for transfer admission? Please let me know your experience or opinion. Thank you!

Are you only interested in the top women’s colleges, or any women’s college? Quite a few of the not-top women’s colleges are on the NACAC list. A number of them (e.g. Hollins, Mills, Simmons) are more than just decent, and even the lower-ranked ones may have something good to offer you as a student. Here are the ones I found today:

Alverno College
Bay Path University
Brenau University
Brescia College
Cedar Crest College
College of Saint Mary
Converse College
Hollins University
Mary Baldwin University
Mills College
Moore College of Art and Design
Mount Saint Mary’s University
Russell Sage College of the Sage Colleges
Saint Mary’s College
Simmons College
St. Catherine University
Sweet Briar College

Hi, I am actually applying woman’s college in MA. I am about finish up my 2nd year in CC and about to transfer, I have applied 9, Smith, MoHo and Wellesley are the 3 schools I applied and really want to get in, but 2 already rejected, only Smith told me about 2nd round, but I have never experienced 2nd round admission.

I think Simmons is too late to apply now, and I don’t want to wait another semester :frowning:

Simmons is on the NACAC list of institutions that didn’t fill up that was published late last week. https://www.nacacnet.org/news–publications/Research/CollegeOpenings/

If Simmons is OK with you, contact them today.

Simmons, as happymomof1 said, has stated that even though their application deadline has passed, they still have some spaces available. If you are interested in Simmons, contact admissions immediately and ask if you can still apply. It would be very, very good to have a backup to Smith, just in case. And Simmons is a very good school, it’s a women’s college, and it is a bit easier to get into than Smith - so an excellent backup. Remember to add them to your FAFSA as well.

Bay Path is also in Massachusetts, all women, and also still accepting applications. They’d be a good backup for Simmons, as they are easier to get into than Simmons. You might consider applying to Simmons first, then to Bay Path.

Russell Sage College is all women and still accepting applications. I know they aren’t in Mass., but they are only an hour and a half from Smith - in NY State. It might be worth looking at them.

That said, it’s good that Smith is still considering you. This doesn’t mean you’ll get in, so applying to others is a good idea.

Hi guys, I I applied 9 schools, I am very satisfied with the amount of schools I applied. I am actually just looking for any experience about 2nd round admission? or do anyone have received an acceptance after rejection in June or July? :-B
