<p>I think that essay is the same as on the freshman application, so I’d follow the general guidelines. You should try to keep it around 500, up to 750 is acceptable so long as you don’t ramble. There is no technical limit, but you want to limit yourself. Say everything how you want it to be said, as succintly as possible. If your essay is 1300 words I’d reread it to make sure it needs to be that long, and if you conclude that it is, then keep it.</p>
