My GPA for this semester will be a 4.0
Last semester it was a 3.9 but i transferred to a community college because i felt it was more cost effective (i think that .1 blemish is gone now), but now i need to boost my application to get into my desired schools. I have recently realized that simply a perfect GPA isn’t enough to transfer to a Harvard/MIT type school (A little late to the game haha) anyway my questions are:
- If i attempt to create a Harvard/MIT level application, will this raise my possibility of getting merit-based (or any type of aid other than need-based, which is out of the question) scholarships for my fall back schools? (UT and A&M) Or is it a waste of time and i should simply pursue other ways of attending college without student loans.
- My sat was sub par (1850) because i never studied for it. I am planning to start to studying for the SAT, then retaking it sometime this summer. Is this a waste of time? I have no doubt that i could get above a 2200 (or a similar caliber on the new redesigned test) if I studied the blue book. Will this new score matter on my applications?
- What other ways can i boost my application, currently I have
-4.0 college GPA (I can maintain it)
-Will do community service
-Will retake the SAT (plan on getting above a 2200)
-Teacher Recommendations
-Part time job throughout College
-will join my community colleges Phi Theta Kappa
But i feel i need more.
Question one is my main concern, If i plan on boosting my applicaiton to such an extent, will it increase my chances of other scholarship opportunities for my fall back schools given that I am a transfer applicant?
