Transfer chance for a 3.68 GPA community college student

I am an international student studying at a Seattle community college and wanna apply for transfer to 4 year college this fall.

I am applying to UCB, UCLA, UT-Austin, UIUC, University of Washington, Wisconsin-Madison, Michigan-Ann Arbor, Ohio State, Texas A&M, Duke, and Carnegie Mellon.
All to mechanical engineering major.
(I know it’s hell lot of college i applied to. i really afraid of not getting accepted.

My GPA until fall 2010 quarter is 3.68. SAT: 1520 =( =( =( IELTS:7.5

I took the SAT in hope that if it is good, hopefully it will boost my chance application. But, with only getting 1520, i am a bit confused whether to send it to the colleges i applied to or not.

Do you guys think i still better submit it (better than none?) or not?

Most of the college say that it is not required but if you have one you can submit it.

I really afraid that it will worsen my chance…
=(

what you guys think about my chance?

How many credits do you have? If you have less than 30-40 credits, I suggest waiting till you have that much because then schools won’t look at your SAT scores that much. Your SAT score(assuming its out of 2400) is too low for those schools.

Don’t send the SAT unless it is required. Your grades at your CC are a lot more important.

Talk with the transfer counselors at your CC to find out where students with grades like yours usually are accepted. They should be able to help you review your list.

Good luck!

I am in my 2nd year of CC and will have 110 quarter credits prior to transfer. I will have most the admission requirements completed by the time i transfer. I took sat just as a gamble that if the sat is good, hopefully it will increase my chance (my perception). is it true? or i am just a panic applicant because of the 3.68 gpa?

Thanks happymomof1…

Unfortunately, as i studied at seattle community college. all of my advisors only now things about UW, UW, UW, and UW. When i ask them things about the OOS college, they will just ask me to look for the information by myself. sighh…

Dude, you would very likely get in Texas A&M (@ College Station I assume) if you were a Texan but since u are OOS, I ain’t know for sure but I heard they are kinda international friendly. I will chance you anyway (for the ones I know). And yeah, don’t send in your SAT unless it’s required. Also, don’t you have any EC? Phi Theta Kappa member?

If you are accepted to UT Austin or Texas A&M @CC, I suggest you go with them for financial reasons! Do you know that if you get any type of scholarship in the amount of more than $1000 per year then you will be eligible to pay Texas in-state tuition?

Try to look for more public schools in Texas with generous scholarships as safeties.
