Transfer chance

Hello everyone!

I’m looking to transfer to NU for Fall 2011 from California. I went to a state school and after a bad experience, I’m now going to a different state school. I’d like to think of myself as a smart cookie and I’m looking for a challenge.

I would be a Human Communication Sciences major with a minor in Linguistics.
My high school record is excellent, with a 4.1 GPA, multiple awards, many activities, etc. All that boring stuff. This semester at Sonoma State I got a 4.0 with 12 units and I’ll be going to Sacramento State for the Spring.

Does coming from a not-so-good college effect my chances? Any help or advice about my situation, or anything you like about the school in general would be lovely. Thank you!

Coming from a not-so-good college makes the 4.0 less impressive (i.e., it’s basically to be expected).
Are you currently a freshman or a sophomore? If the former, what were your test scores like (SATs, ACT, Subject Tests, APs)?

Having my GPA be less impressive is understandable, but I feel like I can only do so much based on the level of the academics. The As I’ve earned so far were so easy that I was bored.
I’m currently going to be a second semester freshman. My test scores weren’t too great…1470 on the SAT and a 22 on the ACT.
