Transfer Chance

Hello, I am a freshman at Syracuse University
Hs gpa 2.75 (80.5%)
Fooled around freshman to junior year
Senior year 4.0 gpa (stacked up on hard classes)
Act-33

Is it possible to transfer to Georgetown as a Second-semester freshman with
4.0 Freshman 1st-semester and loads of H.S ec/volunteer/leadership position and a amazing essay explaining my situation in HS.

Thank You!

Does Georgetown even accept second semester freshmen transfers? A lot of schools don’t.

Since you need to “balance out” your high school record, your best bet is to apply to transfer as a junior. Of course, nothing is guaranteed because the acceptance rate for transfers is 14%.

on collegeboard it says second semester freshman transfer

is it possible for me to transfer to gtown?

It isn’t “impossible” but I would say it’s “unlikely.” Colleges don’t want excuses why you didn’t do well, they want results. If you apply for second semester then colleges will be basing their decision off of half a semester–maybe-- of college grades. In the mean time, you are competing in the transfer pool with people with 4.0s from high school AND college.
