I’m a freshman Biochem major at UCR looking to transfer to other UCs. Last quarter, I was caught by an RA with alcohol and got placed on Disciplinary Probation.
I have a 3.8 GPA (w/o spring quarter) and a 3.98 Math/Science GPA. Since the incident, I started volunteering during weekends. I got an internship at a research facility on campus, and am currently creating an online educational game about virology, due to be finished soon.
I’m worried my probation will greatly affect my chances. Is it possible to still transfer, or is it a lost cause?

Good luck and keep up your good efforts.
When the period of disciplinary probation is completed, some colleges remove from a student’s record.
You need to check with UCR about these details. It may be, the disciplinary probation could be removed from your record so long as you stay out of trouble.
“Students’ disciplinary records are kept for seven years after the date of the last violation, pursuant to the University of California system-wide policies.“
I will need to indicate on the application in fall that I’ve been on probation right? And since I’m coming from another UC, they will probably communicate my disciplinary record.
I don’t know. UCR can answer your questions about whether or not it is included in your transcript when you transfer.
“Notations only appear when the student is suspended or dismissed from UCR. However, suspensions only appear on transcripts during the period of the sanction.”
“A disciplinary record does not automatically exclude a student from further education, jobs, etc. It does depend on the type or severity of misconduct. A disciplinary record may lead an admissions office to scrutinize the student’s application more closely. Again, we will only release information about a student’s disciplinary record as permitted by federal law.”

I would also defer to UCR regarding your questions as mentioned by @Hippobirdy
