So I attended a cosmetology school for a few weeks but realized it wasn’t for me so I withdrew. Well I owe the school some money that I cannot pay off until I get a better job. Well my question is I am wanting to start at a community college then transfer to a local public 4 year school for forensic science. My question is would my short time at a cosmetology school mess up my chances at going to a community college? It didn’t even have classes, like a typical college, it was all based on hours to go towards cosmetology license. And when I look at the transfer college list that the community college application has, the cosmetology school is never listed. So would I be safe not to include it in my application?
I can’t imagine your short time (or any time) at cosmetology school will have any bearing whatsoever on your admission to a community college. Enroll and good luck and your journey!
No. It is not “safe” to leave it off of your application.
You are obligated to provide an official copy of your transcript from every place you have studied. That means that you need to work out a plan with the cosmetology school to get rid of your debt so that they can issue a transcript for you.
