transfer credit

I want to transfer after my freshman year to one of three jobs: reed college, Sarah Lawerence College, or Lewis and Clark college. they say that you need 30 credits to transfer ,but does that mean I have to have them at the time i send my application ,or will they ask for my transcript after spring semester.

note: all of the deadlines are in the middle of spring of semester.

You need to be on schedule to complete a full year of credits by the end of the first year. You will send your first semester grades when you apply, and you will be admitted/rejected based on that information (and possibly estimated second semester grades). You will need to send a new transcript after the second semester ends, and may lose your admission if your grades have dropped too much.

But to be perfectly honest, why don’t you just take a gap year and apply to these three places directly?

Well I’m already scheduled to do 15 of the 30 credits fall semester. I really just want to be there next fall, and I don’t want to take a gap year because I feel like if I did that I’d never go back(just knowing myself).

What is your plan if you aren’t accepted as a transfer?

Do you have the grades and test scores to be admitted as a freshman at these places? Do you need financial aid? A gap year may make the most sense.

And, if you are the kind of person who wouldn’t start college ever just because you didn’t start immediately after HS, why do you think you are college ready now?

I do need financial aid. If I don’t get accepted to any of them I would go to evergreen state college. I can get set in my ways, and I wouldn’t want to go.
