Transfer Credits

I understand that certain UCs look at “transferable coursework”, which contains a total gpa. My question is, Can I take different classes or courses to satisfy certain General education transfer areas such as: Humanities or Math and science to kinda cover up a not so good grade I may have gotten? Instead of that bad grade being transferred, the other good grade is transferred instead, making my gpa look better?

One good grade (“C” or higher) will replace the bad grade – only if they are the same class.

For example, if you failed Pre-Calculus when you were trying to satisfy the math requirement for general education but retake another math class, lets say Intro-to-statistics, and pass that class with “A”. Then your “F” in Calc and your “A” in stats will be both counted. The only way to remove that “F” is to re-take pre-calc for a higher – and passing – grade.

All UC-transferable courses are calculated into the GPA. You can take a large number of “easy A” courses to boost your GPA, but your Bs and Cs will all be calculated into the GPA (non-passing grades will be dropped from the GPA calculation once you repeat them).
