Transfer dillemma - where from tulane?

I’m currently a sophomore at Tulane and will have to transfer to a less expensive school by the end of this semester due to a serious financial problem. I’m planning to apply to dental school after finishing undergraduate. My average GPA will most likely be around 3.7-3.8 by the end of this semester.

I’ve applied to the University at Buffalo, University to Houston, and Truman State University. In terms of cost, Buffalo and Houston are a little more expensive than Truman. In terms of academic preference, I really like to go to a research university in a big city with plenty opportunities for internship and shadowing, etc.

Considering the end purpose of going to dental school, please give me some advice! What are the pros and cons of these schools, if you are familiar with them? What other factors should I consider? Much appreciated!

P/S: I’m an international student, so I can’t take out loan…

Hey, I actually also transferred from Tulane University! I like bigger cities, with lots of research opportunities as well. Unfortunately, I transferred to a small city, with very little research opportunity. Don’t make my mistake!

UBuffalo has a lot of research going on, but Buffalo is a miserable place. For me, at least personally, I really need to like the home city of the school I’m going to. I don’t think I could go to a school, even if it’s really top-notch, if it’s not in an area that I enjoy.

Truman State is somewhat similar, in that it’s a good school in the middle of nowhere.

I would personally pick UHouston, just for the location alone. And the weather.

I’ve heard good things about Buffalo for dental, but I’ve heard similar stuff for Texas. I would narrow it down to those two. This is all personal, of course.
