Transfer Essay Question

<p>In which essay are we supposed to explain the specific academic path we plan to take at Brown?</p>

<p>I explained it in the short essay, “Please tell us more about your interest in transferring: Why does Brown appeal to you as a college option? Who or what has influenced your decision to apply?,” since the academic path I plan to explore is a main reason that I hope to transfer to Brown. </p>

<p>However, I just realized that I may have done it wrong, and they may expect me to explain it instead in the second essay,
“Describe what academic field(s) you wish to pursue at Brown, how you came upon that interest, and any post-graduation career plans you may have considered. (500 words max).” For the second essay, I only explained why I’m interest in the path I described in the short essay and a little about what I might do professionally with these interests.</p>

<p>Is the way I did it alright, or should I change it? What did everyone else do?</p>

<p>I think your essays will look the same if you tell in the first essay about the specific academic path u plan to pursue at Brown. You’re supposed to talk about it in the second essay.</p>

<p>For the first essay tell more about why the department you’re interested in at Brown appeals to you (e.g; professors, research, specific classes, opportunities, etc) and about any extracurricular activities or something unique about Brown that can supplement your education in your specific field. For the second essay write about what do you want to major in and why and your professional interests. That’s what I’ve done.</p>
