Transfer Experiances

Hey! So I’m going to be at Cornell in Fall 2015 as a sophomore transfer. I had a GT offer so I knew I was most likely transferring. Even though I was super pumped fir it initially, I’m starting to have major worries.

The friends I made at my current school happened spontaneously. We weren’t hall mates or anything - it just happened. We go out together, study together, etc. I’m just worried that at Cornell being a sophomore transfer, it’s going to be super hard to make new, close friends.

My sorority has a chapter here, so I plan to reaffiliate. I’ll also be an AEM major

To any transfer student: So what has been your experiance being a cornell transfer and what are some tips/advice you would give me?

S1 is a graduating senior who was also a sophomore transfer to AEM. Socially he went greek his first week on campus and that gave him an instant community. He said that the first semester was tough as the other AEM kids has already bonded over class projects etc at Dyson but by the second semester both he and everyone else forgot he was a transfer. He was placed to live in Shelton Court and that was a bit of a difficult transition but the Greek house made the social life easy. Have you visited and spoken with the president of the Cornell chapter. Good Luck and If you want you can PM me
