Transfer Fall 2013

Hey guys!!

So I am freaking out right now and stressing myself out. I’m currently a texas resident but I am going to school at Eastern Michigan University. Since i will have 31 credits by the end of the semester, I am worried that they will not accept my credits and put me below the min. HELP?!?!

GPA: 3.79
Applied for Television, media
second choice for mathematics

NAACP; chair of political action and Juvenile Justice committee
I AM PINK: mentors k-12 girls in the area
Worked at Plato’s Closet as a Key Holder for 1.5 years
Currently working in Housing
Dean’s List Recipient

Not to bare bad news but you indeed have a problem if any of your classes don’t transfer; my advice sign up for a minimester immediately Nd resubmit your transcript

If you’ve already applied, you need to call admissions and ask them about your status and whether or not you will make the cutoff.

Propayne7: I called them before I applied and they told me that they can’t tell me if my classes transfer over until I applied
oatman: what do you mean a minimester?

izziedodat, I’m sorry, I was under the impression you had applied already.

A minimester is usually offered via distance learning at various colleges. It is a normal college course that is usually completed in 4 weeks. Often these classes are offered in December or May, but some courses like Central Texas College operate continuously on this platform.

Well I have applied, and everything has been submitted…Is this something I could do via online?

Lots off schools do offer a minimester online

Thanks for all your help.

If anyone else comes across this thread, please submit your stats. I don’t wanna go through this alone! LOL

I have a similar problem. I am going to have 25 transferable credits by the end of this semester and around 18 not transferable. I applied as transfer because i have also around 100 credits from a university in a foreign country. I know all of those international credits cannot be transferred, but i hope that some are, so i will have at least 30. Anyway. Good luck

Well my stats.
GPA. 3.90 CC in texas
GPA. 366 in scale 4 in my foreign university.
2 strong recommendations from professors in my CC
Not too impressive essays, but good enough
Worked full time last 4 years.
None volunteer
I am applying to the college of natural sciences. fall 2013

I’m sure most of you are aware of this already, but you can check whether or not your courses are guaranteed to transfer through UT’s ATE database:

[UT Austin Automated Transfer Equivalency System](<a href=“Automated Transfer Equivalency System | Undergraduate Admissions | The University of Texas at Austin”>Automated Transfer Equivalency System | Undergraduate Admissions | The University of Texas at Austin)

That may help to assuage your anxiety.

But that one only does it for in state, not out of state. Thanks though
