Does anybody have some suggestions for schools that you might consider to be “transfer-friendly”? I ask because I’m currently a freshman and I’m not happy with the choice I made last spring. I felt that this was going to be a fit but it just doesn’t seem to be the right place for me. After browsing this board in particular I’ve come across a lot of comments about how certain schools aren’t too thrilled to welcome their transfer students on campus. How friendly a school is won’t be the deciding factor of whether or not I apply, but since you all have a pretty expansive knowledge of the subject I’m hoping that I’ll be able to get some ideas about what places are more welcoming than others.

A rundown of my stats: I’m currently a finance major at what is strictly a business school and my hope is that I’ll be able to transfer to a school that has more academic options so I can double major or major + 2 non-business related minors. I went to a prep school and my GPA wasn’t exactly fantastic, but my transcript can now clearly show that as the work load got harder my grades were better (I started HS w/ a 3.1 but graduated with a 3.8 and 4 AP classes during senior year). Given the way this term is going, I will have between a 3.7 and 4.0 at the end of this semester. I’ve been pretty active on campus and I have some pretty unique work experience, and I also have some really, really good references to use for my academic and adviser recommendations.

Any suggestions that you guys have would be great! Thank you
