I’ve been hearing a lot of talk about the hardest schools to transfer into, does anybody have any information on schools that are transfer friendly? Additionally, do they make it a smooth transition?

Specifically, does anyone know of any transfer friendly music schools? If not, that’s kind of a hard question.

washu is pretty transfer friendly, and for music specifically… maybe vandy? they take a decent amount as well. any LAC is going to have a tough acceptance rate, as well as any ivy… it’s more the mid size unis that can (not all of them are) be more transfer friendly… look for things if they have a transfer orientation program, that’s usually an indicator of like… whether or not they have a sizeable pop. of transfers… a few more details about you might help as well!

WashU doesn’t really have a music school; just music classes.

colegePLEASE: Financial aid is a big factor here. If you need money, you’re going to have to look for colleges that are need-blind or at least offer generous financial aid. WashU, for instance, is very much NOT need-blind.

A note: WashU is not need-blind and so when I applied I did not check that I would be interested in financial aid. However, after I was accepted I went ahead and applied anyways and received a lot of money. That may be the way to go if you’re interested in a school that you are worried may reject you if you indicate you need money.
