So I just started at John Jay and I realize that it’s not where I want to be. I don’t like living in NYC and I want to live on a real campus and be dorming, rather than commuting an hour and a half each way daily. I don’t like how big JJ and I’ve done a lot of thinking and know that I want to being going to Cortland. A lot more of my AP credits will transfer which is great. I am in the honors program at JJ though and need to figure out a way to make sure I can get into the honors program at Cortland. I had origionally applied there, got in, got a merit scholarship and and an offer for the honros program and I want all that again since the price is significantly greater and I’ll need to get loans and I’ll have to return my MAC to them and buy a new one. Anyway with this background, should I transfer to Cortland for the spring semester or next fall. Save money and hate life? or have more student loans and be happy.
I’m in the same boat as you are. Hopefully someone can reply. I’m a Baruch student looking to transfer to Binghamton. Don’t pay anything and actually receive money, but I hate it. Hate the 1 hour commute and the non-existent campus/ college experience.
This is my son too. He wants out of St. John’s & onto UConn. I blame that stupid snapchat that shows all his friends having a ball at away schools. His misery is making the whole household miserable. BTW: accepted to both in the PharmD program…wondering if we can beg for the initial merit scholarship they offered & he declined. Any BTDT parents?
