I got accepted to a UC that I really want to go to for the first year (just to get a feel for it), but my major isn’t offered there. I have enough financial aid to cover UC costs but only for the first year. I’d like to try out this UC, but I know I’ll have to transfer to a CSU after I complete my GE’s and continue onto my major. </p>
<p>Has anyone ever tried to transfer from a UC to a CSU?</p>
<p>It seems pretty counter-intuitive to enroll in a university that you know does not offer the major you want with the explicit purpose of transferring out. It seems that you want to go to UC purely for the sake of going to a UC and not because it is academically or financially the soundest choice. Why don’t you just enroll in a CC or other university that accepted you that would offer better major choices rather than wasting a year’s worth of tuition money (even with financial aid) just to take GEs at a prestigious university?</p>
