So I’m sure this question has been asked on here a million times, but I can’t find the exact answer that I am looking for, so please don’t bash me for this.

I currently go to a university, I am looking to switch out for various reasons. I want to go to the University of Florida, but I have about a 2.6 right now. If I were to transfer to a community college such as Santa Fe, would my GPA reset so I can transfer into UF after that?

PS. I have about 45 credits right now.

Thanks in advance!

No, your GPA would not “reset”.

I just wasn’t sure because I’ve heard it does.

But thanks again.

You should pay a visit to the Transfer Forum. Start there by reading the sticky thread at the top “Transfer Admissions 101”. That will answer a lot of your questions. Good luck!

Transfer requirements vary by institution.

You need to go to the source…call the UF admissions office and speak with a person knowledgeable about transfer admssions. You can get some basic ideas from here but to not ultimately go to the source of the policy is not a good idea.

That’s exactly what I was going, I just wanted to get some information so I don’t sound like an idiot when I do contact them. Thanks everyone!
