transfer From Australia To UCB or US uni

Im currently studying in u of melbourne, and we don’t have GPA in our school. My first year result is overall about 87, which is average H1 in our school. I wanna apply to UCB computer science (UCLA is not that good at CS, right?) . Im wondering if anyone is transfer from australia as well and can share some experience with me?

The second choice will be CMU which is a school that is good at computer science as well.

I know both are hard to get into, but i wanna know is there any australia students here successfully or unsuccessfully apply to these uni in US (can be other uni in US).

Would you mind tell me your result in uni? Thank you!

Im not from australia or know of any austrailians who have transfered but I have an idea of how a possible accepetance would be for you at uc berkeley. Well your grading system is different first of all and you said you had an 87, if its out of 100 that may translate to a B+ average to our grading. Uc berkleys computer science is very competitive with average gpas of 3.5/4.0 scale + im sure higher. Dont quote me but this is what my UCBerkeley Tap counselor told me. Get good grades as in all As or the highest possible grade in each class 90+ and try not to have below a 90. Be involved in your school with these that seem of interest of you. Dont join 5 clubs and hold cabinet positions for all of them that just seems cliche. Have commitment to one or two of then and show genuine interest. Write a good personal statement also. You should find a calculator online if there is one that translates your grades to the US system then youll have a clear picture of what you should be aiming for. ( theres no guarentee but every year the UC system is accepeting more out of state students due to the infamous california budget cuts. ( sorry if i have alot of grammatical errors or if its unstructured, im usinh my mobile device)
