Transfer from BU

I am a freshman Engineering Student at Boston University. I plan to transfer after my sophomore year (Fall 2017). My GPA right now is 3.96 (prolly gonna drop to 3.6-3.7 after this Spring. I wanna transfer to a better engineering school, because BU’s Computer Engineering program doesn’t provide enough opportunities, since it only focuses on its renowned Biomedical program.

I wanna ask if my stats is eligible for UPenn, Columbia, UIUC, MIT, Ga Tech, Stanford.

The 3.96 is going to make you competitive. 3.7 or less, probably not. What have you done besides getting those grades?
All those schools, perhaps with the exception of UIUC and GaTech (which are more likely to accept you), look at test scores for transfers. What are yours?
Have you done anything “impressive” during this time? Collaborated in research? Won any competitions? If so, I’d say you have a chance.

I’m recently collaborating in a research on optical sensors. However, I feel like my heart lies on artificial intelligence, which BU doesn’t have any resource for. My test scores weren’t impressive and I want to retake them. Any advice?
