I am entering my sophmore year at CSUDH and I would very much like to transfer to a UC. Although my GPA is only 3.5, I don’t feel fulfilled at CSUDH.

I did a college matchup on collegeboard.com and they matched me with:

University of California - Davis

University of California - Irvine

University of California - Los Angeles

I’ve heard that it is even more difficult for a CSU student to transfer to a UC than a community college student, and I don’t even know where to begin. Will someone please help me?

I don’t even know what CSUDH stands for. It must be one of the lower CSUs. What is your major? A 3.5 is not too bad. You have a shot at the lower-midtier UCs.

If you can’t stand your school, go to community college for year and sign a tag agreement.

CSUDH is Dominguez Hills.

My major is philosophy.

Which are the lower-midtier UC’s?

Thanks.

You have a good chance at all those Universities, UCLA included. The average admitted GPA for a philosophy student was 3.49, where you just sit above. Go to [Welcome to ASSIST](http://www.assist.org) and look at the major prereqs and try to complete them before next spring (apply this coming fall). Also, try to complete the IGETC which you can google and find the requirements for.
