I heard the Cornell has the greatest acceptance rate for those who apply to Hotel Admin or to Business-School of Hotel Administration. But, if I get into this program, would i be able to transfer to Computer Science in the College of Arts and Science at the end of the first semester as my real intended major is Computer Science?
Apply to either CAS or Engineering for computer science. The hotel school is not for people intending to study computer science. I know you’re probably aware of this, but your question implies otherwise.
Don’t try to game the system. The hotel school looks at fit. The admissions officers aren’t dumb; when they see you aren’t a good candidate for the hotel school they’ll know what you’re doing and won’t accept you. Just apply to computer science.
Cornell is wise to this scheme. You can apply to transfer after freshman year on a competitive basis and there is a good chance you will be disappointed.
