Hey,

I’m going to go to Sophia University starting this September, I have however heard some bad things about it. In the case that this is true I’ll transfer out.

I was looking at colleges like Bentley, BU, Penn state Park, U penn.

Sophia U is very well established, top league in Japan.

It’s a partner school with Upenn and Boston college.

With a high college GPA would it be doable to transfer to the US? and if so, could I look at high tier like Upenn, or should I look at colleges like Bentley, Northeastern, UCB…

thanks a lot!

If you are uncertain about Sophia, could you request a deferred enrollment, and give yourself time to investigate other options? Colleges and universities in the US do accept transfer students who come from international universities, but it is not easy. Are you an international candidate, or are you a US candidate? Do you require financial aid? Those will also factor into your results.

If you are currently in Japan, you should make an appointment with the counselors at the closest advising center of EducationUSA: [EducationUSA - Find an Advising Center](http://www.educationusa.info/Japan) They can help you with the whole process.
