Transfer from OCC

I will be finishing my association degree(applied science, CIS) at OCC next semester. I am getting around 3.8 gpa right now and have total 64 credit hours done. If I transfer to U of M ann arbor, will I be able to start junior? I am planning to do software engineering as my major at U of M. Also how many credits will I need to finish bachelor degree in software engineering and how many more for master degree? I talked to OCC counselors but they don’t seem to know well about this. :(

I’ll assume you want to transfer to CSE (there is no SE - people who want to do CSE). You will need to take these classes: [Michigan Engineering | Course Equivalency Database](http://www.engin.umich.edu/transferdatabase/college.jsp?id=264) except for CIS 1500, EGR 2000, EGR 2030, EGR 2040, MAT 1580, MAT 2880.

When you get here you will need in the range of about 64 credits assuming you come in with all your humanities completed. For a masters you will need 30 more I believe. If you do CUGS something might double count depending on what you take.

Talk to a CSE adviser here.

aww… so only class listed above are transferrable and counted as credit in u of m engineering school? I was doing this

[Computer Information Systems](http://www.oaklandcc.edu/Catalog/Programs/Programs/C/CIS.AAS.aspx)

in OCC. That means only half of things I’ve done here will be transferrable?

Some more things will be transferable, for instance many of the humanities and social science classes you took (if any), but other technical classes will not transfer.
