Hi! I am newbie at this and I really need some advice, because I am like a lost puppy right now.
So I am trying to figure out if this is possible or it is too late in the game
Currently I am attending a private university with sophomore/ junior standing. I started out here to hopefully get a biochemistry major, then spring of freshman year I decided to change majors and go into Speech Language Pathology. Flash forward of not getting the desired grades, end of sophomore year I am out of the Speech Language Pathology program at the University of the Pacific with no “declared” major. The closest major that I can really get now with the 2 years left is either psychology or special education (and these are my best bets, with summer school on top that cost a fortune)
I have come to realize that the sciences are not my forte and that maybe it is better for me to take another route in life. I am probably going to go back home (NorCal) and hopefully take classes at a community in the Bay Area.
As of right now I have a total of 55 units at 2.63gpa (I messed up real bad, I know…) and finishing my spring sophomore with a total of 70 units with a projected 2.84 gpa, but I do not know how many are transferable and will count for a CC/UC
I was wondering if I can transfer to a community college to finish up my general education, bring up my gpa, also explore what major I am actually good at, and then transfer to a UC or an upper division university. Or is it better for me to just transfer from private to UC?
Who should I ask/ talk to? What do I need?
Is it worth it to transfer to a UC with junior/senior standing?
Basically can I have a fresh start and start over?
Thank you so much!! I really appreciate all the help I can get
