Transfer from Purdue to Georgia Tech

Purdue is a very good university.

Both Purdue and GT are schools that are known for technology and engineering. These are areas where small differences in the ranking of the university that you came from really does not matter.

Just a wild guess based on your login name: I will guess that you might be a mechanical engineering major. Good choice. Both Purdue and GT are very good for mechanical engineering, and both are ABET accredited for mechanical engineering (or at least that is what I just found doing a Google search).

You are already at a great university with a strong ME program. I would stay where you are unless there is something important that you have not told us (such as being in-state in Georgia and being able to go there for less money).

If you ever want to get a master’s degree (as I understand it not really needed for an ME major, but possible), graduate school admissions will know how strong Purdue is for ME. This includes graduate school admissions at top schools such as GT or Stanford, or just about anywhere else.
