Transfer from Top 40 USNWR?

Hi everyone,

I am a current sophmore student at a top 40 usnwr school, looking to transfer because I dislike the curriculum and would like more academic rigor.

I have a 4.0 GPA (Summa cum laude/top 5% for our school is roughly 3.75) and a 2300 SAT. I have decent ECs (3 club executive boards, one medium level position). I did ok in high school, was a top 50 USNWR high school.

I’m looking into econ majors (realized I want more of a theoretical background), but I don’t like my school’s econ department that much. Would it hurt that I’m trying to transfer to econ/business econ from a business major?

Also looking into schools like Northwestern and Brown

No.

You are transfering for the specific reason that you want the more xyz course offerings. That is enough. Lots of people transfer because they don’t like the department where they have been studying.
