I am currently finishing my first year at UCSC, my major right now is Biochemistry, and I’ve been taking a mixture of chemistry, calculus, and feminist studies classes. Even though I’m a college “freshman,” I came out of high school and into college with 40 credits, so right now at the end of my first year, i will have a running total of 89 credits. I am not at all passionate about the sciences, and have recently started doing freelance work online, doing graphic design and photo editing jobs here and there. I would like to do advertising and graphic design, or maybe just product design, but regardless - Santa Cruz does not have any kind of design program. I was thinking of transferring to San Francisco State or UC Davis for the second half of next year (Spring semester/Winter quarter 2018).
Thoughts?
UCD only takes transfers for Fall Quarter so you would need to apply this Fall for next year 2018.
From UCD website:::::::
The application period for fall 2017 enrollment is closed. UC Davis does not accept applications for winter or spring quarters, though you may apply to other open UC campuses.
Applicants for fall 2018 may start working on the UC application as early as August 1. The application filing period for fall 2018 admission to UC Davis opens November 1 and closes at midnight on November 30, 2017.
Yeah, I realized this after submitting this post haha. Thank you!
