Transfer from United States Naval Academy

I am currently a 4/C (freshman) midshipman at the United States Naval Academy. I love USNA but I’m not completely sure if I am the right fit for military life, and the Naval Academy does not offer as many selections in majors and academic opportunities/challenges as much as I would prefer. Please feel free to comment on what my chances are.

I am considering applying to Duke, Stanford, Columbia, University of Virginia, and Princeton. I intend to be a Computer Science major.

You are in pretty good shape to get in to any competitive school that accepts transfers (Im not sure Princeton does). Because of how much competition there is to get in, there is not guarantee that you will, but you are as qualified as anyone. Coming from the Naval Academy will count significantly. (are you sure you want to leave? a sponsor family talking!). Good luck to you. Go Navy!

Thank you! I did not realize that Princeton didn’t offer admission to transfers. I am not sure if I want to leave either but I am keeping my options open because I am not completely sure the Academy is right for me. Beat Army!
