I’m looking to transfer to either GSU , Emory, or GaTech. Currently I attend UWG i have a 3.1 gpa but it will increase during the spring as i look to attend a new school in the 2017 fall semester. What are my chances of getting accepted into Emory or Tech ? And also will they review my transcript after the spring semester grades have been posted or my last grades after I apply ?
The only thing that you will send from the second semester is the midterm report. Since applications are due before the second semester ends, your grades from the spring won’t increase your gpa, and your GPA will be a 3.1 when you apply to schools. Decisions usually come out before the spring semester ends, so schools will most likely not review your spring semester grades unless they have late application deadlines or you are waitlisted.
I think that unless you have stellar extracurriculars, standardized testing, or high school record, it will be difficult to get into GA tech and Emory. GA tech’s transfer average was a 3.6 and Emory’s is around the same if not higher.
So you definitely need a higher gpa for Tech or Emory. Maybe stay at your current school for a semester or two to raise that gpa?
