Transfer from YSU - worth it?

Hi everyone! Some people on this forum might remember me from nearly two years ago, when I couldn’t afford any of the colleges I had initially gotten into and needed serious help. I ended up attending YSU with a major in journalism and a minor in telecommunication studies. Since then, I’ve done pretty well there. I’m on the newspaper staff, work with/am a founding member of two TV shows on campus, am the editor of the yearbook, and have joined a few clubs. Along with this, I’ve maintained a 3.81 GPA with a 4.0 so far this semester. While my experience at YSU has been good, I feel like I’m outgrowing the university and it’s starting to feel small. I’m thinking about transferring, but I would need a good amount of financial aid and I’m worried if I transfer to a larger and/or “nicer” school, I won’t be able to be as involved as I currently am. I’m also heavily considering graduate school, and would like to keep that in mind for the rest of my academic career. Should I transfer? Where to?

TLDR stats:
Journalism major/telecommunications minor
Sophomore
3.81 GPA/4.0 this semester
Extreme involvement within my major at YSU

In HS: 4.1 GPA, 1320 SAT, numerous ECs

Check through this forum for threads on the topic of merit-based aid and need-based aid for transfer students. Then see if any of the institutions mentioned could work for you.

There’s not much risk in applying to your instate flagships, especially Penn State’s Bellisario School of Communication (same major/minor combo).

Same thing for Mizzou’s school of journalism.
In addition, run the NPC on: Denison, Northeastern, UNC-Ch, Georgetown.
