Transfer help

Would it be possible to transfer from a cc to bu with a 3.3 and a GED I am retaking my SATs but for now I have a 1600. As for the low gpa and GED I have an outstanding reason for the both of them and my gpa is going up. I am heavily involved in many ECs.

You better have an “outstanding reason”. Anyway, get your SAT scores up. A 1600 is quite low for BU. And what specific activities are you involved in?

I have a 3.3 now but with the way things have been going it’ll be more along the lines of a 3.5-3.6 when I apply. As for the SATs I have been studying like crazy so I feel very confident there I figure 1900s will look decent. As for ECs I am on a top national jr. rock climbing team and am a competitive climber I volunteer at a hospital 6 hours a week I play hockey and am an advocate for Alzheimer’s patients I fund raise for cancer and participate in triathlons and marathons regularly. There are a bunch of other things too.

I forgot to mention that I work two jobs and pick up a seasonal job in the winter since money is tight. Also I tutor kids but i do that for free since they can’t afford to pay anyone.

OK, so you seem to be pretty involved. 1900 is a good score to aim at, but I would aim higher if I were you since you are coming from a community college. There are people from state universities and higher tier colleges transferring into BU, so it is advisable to aim for a 2000+.

Useful info [Program Requirements | Boston University Admissions](http://www.bu.edu/admissions/apply/transfer/program-requirements/)

Good luck!

Thanks for the help! :)
