Hey guys, im currently a soph at a small catholic college in mass and want to transfer after my soph year. im a biochem major with a 3.4 and am interested in USC, BU, BC, UMass, and UCSD. What do you guys think about my list and any aditional schools that you could recommend. Distance really isnt an issue. Thanks a ton i really appreciate any insight. Also how much do my ec matter?

UCSD will be extra difficult if you are not a California resident. Otherwise, I think you’ve got some range of reach to match there. Two other strong BME schools I am familiar with are Johns Hopkins (reach for everyone) and Tulane (could be a match depending on your other stats).

I personally don’t think ec’s can hurt you, but strong ec’s can help. That’s just my opinion, though, based on my son’s transfer app success without college ec’s being much of a selling point.

thanks for the early post, some of my ecs are i played a sport and i also did research during the summer. I volunteer in the ER frequently as well

Make sure you look at what classes will transfer to each of the schools. What are you looking for in a transfer school?

im looking for a better school, with a more involvement in the biochem research. Also i would like to go to a school that has a good sports environment, hence usc and bc. Any more opinions on tulane?

thanks guys
